Cocktail or Dessert


This recipe comes directly from Food & Wine Magazine because it looks so darn refreshing. The question is do you serve this as an adult dessert or decadent cocktail? Definately the over 21 version of ye olde root beer floats we had as kids growing up.

1.5 oz. limoncello
2 oz. gin
2 Tbl fresh lemon juice
4 oz. sparkling wine
1 scoop lemon sorbet (1/4 cup)

  1. Stir together limoncello, gin, and lemon juice in an ice-filled mixing glass until mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted, about 30 seconds.

  1. Strain mixture into a rocks glass or a wine glass. Top cocktail with sparkling wine and lemon sorbet, and serve with a spoon.
